They can take your world. They can take your heart. Cut you loose from all you know. But if it's your fate, then every step forward will always be a step closer to home.
CRAU GAME HISTORY FOR mockmurder
Fac History
However, all was not as it seemed as Sora was pulled from his world during the events of KH2 when he was about to fight Xemnas and dragged to a place known as the Facility that was run by a group known as the Consortium. This is a place where weekly experiments on run on the subjects, ranging from downright silly to so physically violent that it could cause death. When Sora first arrived there was a group known only as the Doctors who personally ran the experiments on the Consortium's command. They were only served food bars that some claimed tasted like cardboard with their weapons taken and abilities limited. Everyone had separate bedrooms but four rooms shared a common area with a single bathroom which really didn't bother Sora. Sometimes they'd take trips to areas known as Facility 3 that was designed to look like other worlds. Eventually they learned several secrets that were devastating enough to break a person and the Doctors were destroyed and replaced by a computer program named Val. Unlike the rest of Sora's friends from this place he arrived a lot earlier than any of them. He arrived during week 45. (Since it covers nearly 150 weeks of torture, I'll hit the important parts.)
Week 45 - Arrived at the Facility on November 21st, 2009 only to experience his first failed experiment and learned all about the place. The only people from their universe was Roxas, Axel, Demyx and Namine (she'd been unconscious and not the current one). Week 46 - Everyone was switched into different bodies, Sora had himself a creepy guy with a creepy smile. It was the first time he met the first Joshua (TWEWY) as Josh was in Namine's body. Week 48 - CHRISTMAS! Santa actually came to the Facility and left Sora two presents. Week 50-52 - Sora's first trip to an F3! It was a dino island. After FF!Cloud disappeared Sora took over running the search-rescue-protector station they'd managed to set up. FF!Sephiroth destroyed the entire place and Sora was forced to go up against Cloud. A young boy named Ritsuka was the first death he'd witnessed, was the first person he failed to save. Week 53 - After returning to their regular home the rats were released on the Doctors. Most of them died. Week 54 - Turned five years old for the first time. Week 56 - His first Valentine's Day in Facility wasn't so good. A list of 25 rats' names were given and they were told they had to lay out their hearts, also 14 of Sora's friends were terminated. Not a good week for him as the observations consisted of everyone screaming. Darkness clouded his heart after hearing that to the point where tendrils were rising off of him threatening to turn him into Anti-Sora. Week 61-63 - Sent to D.Gray-Man's London, complete with Akuma and one friend turned into a Noah. The entire place was leveled and they had to live in Allen's Ark for a couple of days. Sora adopted an orange tabby kitten after that, one left behind by a couple of his friends. Week 66 - Visible posts from the Doctors. Ones that showed bloodstained sheets with nearly lifeless bodies under it. Someone also hacked into the Doctors' files and revealed that they were all just clones of their real selves. That everyone who was "terminated" actually died and was thrown into a giant incinerator all together. Week 68 - With OOC week, Sora was attacked by Allen - knocked unconscious near the beginning and locked in a closet for the rest of the week. Riku V1.0 showed up after that. Week 71-73 - Sent to Biodome's Rapture where Sora celebrated his first Facility birthday. It ended with the entire place flooded. Week 77 - Riku V1.0 was terminated. Week 78 - Solitary Confinement. The rats first interaction with Val included being locked in a small area where they were starved and tortured with a few others while a most of the Facility watched them on the televisions while popcorn.gif with beer. Sora was forced to watch a clip of Riku V1.0 burning in the incinerator. Week 82 - Genderswapping week! Sora became a girl...that wasn't all that different from being a boy, this time. He was given girl's clothes though. Week 83 - Sora's cat, Mittens, gave birth to six kittens. She was neutered later. Riku V2.0 showed up. Week 84-85 - Dropped into an F3 known as Abyss which was actually the setting for another game. It came with some of the people trapped there along with some of their terrible slaver natives and a hoard of 4th wallers. Everyone was terminated at the end. Riku and Sora started dating. Week 89-91 - Put into Assassin's Creed's Venice. During these weeks there were evil twins and Sora's turned him into Anti-Sora. His Heartless self attached to Allen's 14th and did his bidding for nearly a week. Week 94 - Sora was skipped ahead to nearly 8 years into an AU Future but he doesn't remember it. Week 98-100 - Taken to Psychonauts' Whispering Rock where Sora and his friends celebrated Christmas. Week 102 - Persona Shadow week. Shadows had to be defeated or accepted to get rid of them. Week 105 - The Facility's 2 year mark saw the "termination" of the project. Or at least that's what they claimed and all hell broke loose. When the week was over the computer program Val from before was now running the experiments. Week 107-109 - DC Comic's Gotham City trip. Wasn't too bad for Sora except for the bad guys everywhere. Week 115-117 - Labyrinth's Goblin City. Sora and Riku were married here. Week 121 - Red buttons with the words "I Quit" were in the rats rooms. Hitting it would lead to death and pictures of their tortures were televised. Week 128-130 - Trip to American McGee's Alice's Wonderland. Week 133 - Zombie week. Riku V2.0 was infected and killed by Axel. Came back as Ansem!Ku the next week who didn't remember anything since Sora's year long canon sleep. Week 136-138 - Firefly-based world. Complete with a visit from Reavers. Week 141 - Sora's first death courtesy of Josh V2.0 (the one in game). He was asploded. Week 143 - He came back to life. Week 144 - Sora fell comatose and was terminated on week 147.
During the next few weeks Sora went "home". Or at least believed he did and came back with fresh memories of home and a brand-spanking new body. He'd gotten home to Destiny Islands and received King Mickey's note.
Week 157 - Makes a triumphant return to the Facility complete with memories. Week 158 - The rats Rebellion, with help from Val, took over the station. The Consortium was no longer in control of the station. Sora and his crew moved into one of the mansion-sized houses that used to be the Doctors. This week was also the ship's 3rd year mark. Week 169 - Each rat was given a time counter in their arm. In order to get time to survive the week they had to do tasks. Terrible tasks. Sora had to kill clones of his friends and very nearly couldn't stomach it. Week 175-177 - Visit to a Japanese hot springs as relaxation before the Consortium comes to attack and destroy them all. Week 182 - Battle with the Consortium. Sora was on healing/fighting duty to protect Val as she's connected to the ship's vital systems. Week 184-188 - Stuck back in their original cage as Val and the robots work to get the station in working order. At the beginning of week 188 Axel was terminated and a bunch of people exploded due to the bombs placed on their hearts. Sora suffered his second death via explosion. Again. He was terminated shortly after so he could "return home" for new memories.
This time he came back to the Facility after going through a lot of the events of KH3D. He was once again dragged away just before a fight with Xemnas. Sora was confused with all of his conflicting memories and believed the Facility to be another dream world at first. Axel also returned but also from "returning home" and became Lea. Sora actually woke up before everyone revived from their deaths and helped in the revival process.
Week 193-195 - Dropped in Dark Tower's Devar-Toi. Most of the areas were destroyed before the three weeks was over. Week 198 - Sora had to fight with a Fac-future version of himself that had gone completely mad. Week 200 - Creatures called Weeping Angels invaded the station. Week 205 - Roxas and Lea were both terminated. Sora forms a closer bond with Neku V3.2 because of it. Week 208 - Shiki is killed and Neku with her right in front of Sora's eyes. Josh could do nothing to save him. Sora collected Shiki's body and her decapitated head. Week 212 - This week brought Sora's final termination. He hasn't been back since. Sora will be taken from just before this week started. He'll be slightly injured due to the violent 4th wallers hanging about the station.
Destiny Strings
April 7th - He arrived in a new world called Hinoto-ri, first thinking that it was yet another F3 trip but instead soon found out that it was a real place. With real sunlight and food. Also real versions of people from 'home'; including two Rikus, a different Xion and Sora. Thankfully there were also a few friends that had come from the Facility before him including Kairi, Naminé, Neku, Joshua and Shiki. It was hard not having his Riku there but took comfort in the one who remembered the Mastery test. April 10th - A few days later after he was settled into his new apartment, he posted to the network. He met Death (Didi) who he learned came from another world like he had along with Terranort. A few more days after that he gave cat advice to Fac!Neku and met a giant robot. April 24th - Then came the 13th hour and a huge boss enemy showed up. Sora participated in that fight, it was a tough long battle even though he had the support of three other people as most of his magic arsenal either did no damage or healed the thing. Unfortunately he was knocked out and they had to finish the fight without him. He later left the fight covered in garbage and decaying flesh. April 28th - Kairi fell comatose like so many clones had before. Naminé sat by her side and he went to visit her with food.
May 5th - He spent the next while spending a lot of time by Kairi's bedside, sometimes working or sometimes just laying out and enjoying the sun. But he went to the Cherry Blossom Festival because Kairi would not be happy to learn that he'd been by her side and not out having some kind of fun. He also received a couple of fortunes, one was bad luck while the other caused him to have a dream of everyone left in the Facility landing safely on the planet. May 6th - That was the day that he put out a call to see if anyone had any medical-science knowledge to help Kairi since they didn't have the pods that the Facility had. And learned that there was a real!Neku by mistaking him for the Fac!Neku. May 8th - Another Facility resident showed up on this day, not one Sora had ever talked to before but he recognized her - plus it wasn't hard to miss the mention of "F3" which was what they commonly referred to as Facility 3. After that he left Hinoto-Ri in an attempt to get back to the Fac Station but instead ended up...in yet another world.
Tre-Purgatorio
Day 1 (November 8th) - He wakes up inside of a white room with his cat, a strange weapon and a bunch of new companions. Sora is united to a brand-new Riku and Kairi, along with an old friend from the Facility - Lavi. After checking out the white building, he uses his new "'berry" to leave and ends up in the desolate City Three (forever known as C3). Then he proceeds to talk to even more familiar people over the network. November 8th-10th - Sora decides to make C3 his home, finding a building to take over as his apartment and starts to work on creating a clinic. November 10th - Poisonous snakes are released in all of the cities and he tries to get the natives of C3 to trust him enough to treat them. November 11th - An airship captain is captured and his ship falls out of the sky into C3. Sora goes to investigate - hoping to save the pilot but his way is blocked by soldiers. November 12th - A native named Val comes over the network to recruit offworlders for a mission to gather anti-venom. Sora goes along and discovers that it was also a rescue mission for the pilot. Along the way he has to fight soldiers and a giant robot. When he's topside again, two of his friends have been arrested in C2. He doesn't hear from them for over a week. November 16th - The first city-jump is performed and Sora goes out to meet Saskia in C3. Turns out it manages to make people rather sick. November 25th - His friends are released from jail, both of them have been emotionally tortured. "Lavi" comes to stay with him for a while as does Kairi. November 28th - A familiar native appears on the network who appears to know everything about Sora's history, especially his time in Fac. November 29th - Sora announces the opening of his clinic in C3.
December 1st - Everyone in the city begins to show signs of some sort of sickness. The affects varied from person-to-person. December 3rd - A second batch of offworlders appeared. Smaller than the first but their arrival was a lot more spread out. Karen, a native of C3, began to distribute whatever food was available as they finally discovered the cause of everyone's symptoms. Sora helped out and offered not only to provide clean water for C3 but also passed out whatever food he had stored up. November 27th - December 11th - Sora ignores his own symptoms to tend to the people of C3, on the 6th he lost his first patient to the poison. Then proceeded to have a serious panic attack about it as part of his own symptoms. On the llth, the side affects began to wane as there was no more poisoned food left. December 13th - The first offworlder's death occurred - though it wasn't well known that she was dead to a lot of people that she was dead. December 17th - A creature took Riku and Sora jumped to C1 in order to find him. With the help of other offworlders, they managed to rescue him but suffering from the jump affects - he had no sense of reason and jumped in front of a blow meant for Riku. Sora didn't survive as the creature struck his heart. December 26th - He remained dead for 9 days (forgetting everything about sea-salt ice cream) and returned the day after Christmas. Sora missed the event AND CHRISTMAS, which was a random gift on the eve of the 24th but managed to make it in time for the broadcasted murder of a native. There was a get-together with his friends to exchange gifts and have food at least. For the time being, he stayed in C1 with Kairi and Riku. December 29th - The third batch of new arrivals appeared. An interesting person came on this day - another who was like him and Lavi. Luke fon Fabre had been "world-hopping" from another like the one they were stuck in now. December 31st - Another new native broadcasted a list of offworlders in a strange manner and Sora attempted to figure out what it meant. Sora makes a strong connection to a boy named Jun, finding that their pain is so similar.
January 1st - He makes a New Year's resolution to talk about his past in Fac with someone. To talk about how he feels now. January 2nd - The native from before, Ben, is returned to C2. Sora is transported over by Val to see him so he can heal him and learn how to encrypt his network posts. January 3rd - Another person from the Facility arrives. Not someone he spoke to regularly but an enemy of sorts. January 4th - Sora ane Lenalee talk about their deaths in C2. January 9th - He becomes a wanted criminal for several of his previous actions. Sora proceeds to go into hiding in C1, but not before visiting Jun in the hospital and giving him a magical healing boost. January 11th - Kairi is kidnapped in C3 by several of the natives. Before he and Riku can go save her, Val steps in to do it for them. January 17th - Been in hiding since the 9th with Riku. They take the time to talk about things - including some of Sora's past. He discovers something happened between Riku and Gaara and disappears on everyone. Sora doesn't even take his 'berry with him. January 18th - Runs into Luke and the guy helps him out. He confesses to having someone here that he loved in a previous world and to being a clone of the real Sora for the first time in Purg. They talk about love and mourn basically. January 18th - 26th - Proceeds to live alone and off the grid. January 26th - He meets up with a Data copy of Jun. Unfortunately, being off the grid means he has no idea what was going on and that this is a copy of his friend. January 27th - Data!Jun proceeds to take him the authorities in C2. Sora goes to jail while Data!Jun collects the award.
January 28th - February 14th - His time in jail is not fun. The scientists leave him alone for two days before starting in on the "experimentation". Really it was just torture. They tested Sora's pain tolerance including: removal of two of his organs, breaking bones, electricity, and other things. They kept him alive, stitching him back up when necessary. After they put him back in a cell and left him alone for two days. Without magic, he was forced to deal with his injuries the old-fashioned way. Next, they put him in a room and Sora had to kill fake versions of several of his friends. After that they just proceeded to stack dead bodies of his friends in an attempt to break him. February 14th - They release Sora from jail, dumping him in the street somewhere in C1. He makes use of his Dream Eaters to get back to his temporary shelter and seeks out some of his close friends. Once he's cleaned up, Sora makes a network post after getting his 'berry back and sees a few more friends before passing out. He stays in C1 to recuperate for a while longer while the real Jun donates the bounty from Sora's capture to his clinic. February 19th - Sora is no longer capable of using all of his magic abilities, not all, but some have been replaced by the ability to make 5 clones of himself. February 20th - He returns to C3, still slightly battered, and offers to train Kairi in her suddenly new-found abilities. February 24th - The grave of missing offworlders are discovered in C3.
March 2nd - Meets up with Rapunzel to talk about creating a tunnel system in C3 that connects his clinic to other offworlder businesses. March 12th - Words begin to appear on people's faces. Sora in particular had "fake", "broken" and "useless". March 20th - An event called "The Gathering" began. Soldiers in all cities began collecting children and taking them. March 21st - Luffy and Sanji rescued Val from prison, both dying permanently in the process. Sora got his abilities returned and lost the ability to make clones of himself. March 24th - Kairi is killed by a ghost in C3. Sora brings her body back to the clinic only to be met along the way by Riku. Together they mourn her loss.
April 1st - Eight days later, Kairi returns. Her return will be Sora's last memory of this world.
Melodies of Life
November 7th - Sora woke up in a brand new world called Crystallis. He found himself on a Chocobo Farm with real Naminé, had a Moogle named Ina assigned to help him. Later he met Replica Riki (Ira) and learned everyone was preparing for Starlight Festival (their version of Christmas). Sora also finally met his face-twin Vanitas. November 9th - Begins Sora going to help people with their Calamity Selves (much like Persona Shadow Selves) and puts off his own as long as possible. He helped both people from home and friends he knew from past worlds to complete strangers. November 15th - His first post to the Mognet via letter writing (everyone learns he has terrible spelling without autocorrect and has even worse handwriting after all the torture he's been put through) - in which he invites everyone to watch a game of Blitzball. November 30th - Sora finally goes to face his own Calamity Self before it's too late. This will be the last thing he did before being dragged away to another world.
Quiet Place
February 12th - Sora arrives to an alternate version of France, Earth that has been desolated by creatures called Sound Eaters. As their name suggests, they are attracted by sound so Sora spent a great deal of time in silence. The natives offer up some sort of slightly drugged drink that was supposed to induce endearment and lust but Sora refused. He's assigned the job of fishing but it can only be done on rainy days. February 21st - Sora enlists Tony Stark's help in figuring out how to cure the Clone Sickness that the Facility's clones were prone to experience. February 27th - He starts working at Akira Kurusu's clinic: Silent Treatment. February 28th - The natives of the world say that this group isn't the first to have arrived from various other worlds but that they simply stayed. Then they ask if anyone would stay of the new group and Sora decides "why not?" basically. It may not have been a great world but it could truly use his skills as a healer. Later on, he accidentally eats spiked food given to him by Akira and ends passing out.
March 3rd - Sora joined Fight Club and offered to people how to use "swords" except by using makeshift Struggle gear. He learns he's not the only person with a Persona and starts working to strengthen his own with Akira's help. Then he meets Victor and starts working on strength training and physical therapy for some of his more serious past injuries. March 4th - He volunteers to help out with a kid center. March 16th - New arrival day and mutant birds show up outside his house which makes a ton of noise. Sora is forced to put it to sleep. Later on everyone is covered in an odd red dust that leeches all color from people's sight except for one color. Turns out all Sora can see in color is Riku's eyes. Oh yeah, Riku turns up too. He also starts taking a specific sign language class (a sign language made up by the natives of this current world). March 27th - Everyone is hit with the need to be with someone after a storm blows red dust through the town.
April 3rd - Sora starts building more stasis pods inside the abandoned hospital for anyone who finds themselves in need of a treatment current medicine can't provide. April 20th - A little festival is held where there's food, drinks, games and even ice skating. April 24th-April 29th - A red dust storm sweeps through the town and a lot of the non-native population disappears over the course of five days leaving behind only natives and a handful of others. Sora is amongst the number left behind in Sound Eater apocalypse, though not for very long.
Mock Murder (Round 1)
Week 1 - Sora arrives in the snow-covered landscape surrounding the Resort, he's reunited with Roxas, Ventus and Vanitas - along with a bunch of others. They're stuck here for the time being. Turns out they're all playing an extremely deadly game and others get hurt as the week goes on. Week 2 - It's murder week and Sora's not It - on either side. Instead, it's Minato who's died and Ren is the killer. He does help the investigation by searching around the resort. While they determine the true killer, they don't want to execute Ren so most settle on voting for someone else. Sora voted for the Spirit possessing Ratso. This is the week they met the woman in charge of this particular murder game - an individual named Shea. She has a woman named Jennifer working for her. Week 3 - He spends this week hanging out with some friends, not really learning much of importance. It's also the week of his birthday and "Lucas" gave him a birthday cake! Yay! Week 4 - The Resort is suddenly being haunted by the people who have died, Sora finishes reading a book on the Earth and realizes that "hey, a lot of these places are like worlds I've visited before". Another murder occurs, a double one and the victims are Shido and Kosuke. Sora ends up investigating Shido's lion form for injuries. He votes for Lucas but one of the Akechi's are executed instead by Vanitas. Week 5 - Roxas tells Sora a bit more about the organization known as the Foundation, including about them being clones. They also learn that Vanitas is part of the Mafia - not just part of it but an important player. Sora is determined to find a way to save Vanitas without killing him. Week 6 - Suddenly enemies are everywhere and Shea places them all in a dangerous maze. Sora ends up partnered with Anise. They get a look at the spirit inside of Ren. At the end of the week, there's another double murder - Fara and Hiei. Things also start to spiral out of control. Lucas isn't actually Lucas, they may or may not be part of the Foundation, the dead aren't really dead, Kurama is the mole, Hiroto is the final Mafia spirit and oh - this whole thing has been Vanitas' Persona-based dungeon. Let's not forget the dragon. For most of the first fights, Sora is on healing duty for all of his allies. Akira manages to bring Shea to her knees and then Vine ends up killing her anyway. They decide that they're all going to become a wolf pack, to look after each other. Vani's shadow makes an appearance and Sora is right there trying to fight him. Once Shea and Vani's Shadow are taken care of, all that's left is Jennifer - except that's not her name. Finale - Lucas turns out to be a guy called Nick who came to take the spirit possessing Jennifer back to the Foundation. He came with a team and happened to have his memory altered, along with everyone there. A rescue party breaks through Vani's dungeon in order to put a stop to Lucina, more members of Foundation. Once she's dealt with, the dungeon starts to crumble and they have to make a hasty retreat. They end up at some other resort in a tropical setting and spend the night recovering from the fight the day before. Conclusion - The next day they have a meeting to work out all the kinks in the past six weeks but things are cut short when they get a warning that more Foundation agents are coming to take them all in. Just before the warnings, Sora starts to remember all of his previous memories - his time in the Facilit and other worlds, that he's already a clone. Sora uses a key he found to unlock a path for some individuals to escape before they can be captured but he decides to stay and become part of the Foundation alongside Riku.
Between - After giving his statement to the Foundation about the last six weeks, they're granted a "vacation" of sorts. Sora has started to work through all of his issues that were caused by the trauma of his past history but is still a long way off. A group is sent on a mission to go check out some abandoned church, though not Sora. Once he learned of its location, he told Nick about his experience in (Quiet Place) France. Basically he just tried to learn more about the Foundation and bugged people he knew.
CRAU PERSONALITY FOR mockmurder
A Facility Personality Differences:
Sora is damaged with a capital “D”. That’s what happens when someone spends nearly three and a half years in a torture facility. Most of the time Sora tries to repress his damaged self but seeing as how he wears his emotions on his sleeve it’s easy to tell when he shuts down. There’s no hiding the hurt or sadness from his eyes when it comes. It also means that Sora tries so much harder to do silly things that will make people happy. Even though he’s seen so much pain and death Sora still clings to his childish things like Santa or having parties. If he sees the chance to do something fun, Sora will jump on it. Life in the Facility hadn’t been an easy one so in between the horrors he wanted to see people smile.
Losing people had never been easy for Sora to accept, he always fought with everything he has to get them back but now it’s even harder because there have been times when he couldn’t do anything to save them. Sora has had to watch the people around him die, has stood over them and been unable to revive them. Considering his relatively outgoing nature that tends to get him all sorts of friends, this means Sora’s lost of lot of people he cared for over the years and it never gets any easier. It’s actually a fear of his, to lose those he cares for, a major one. But it’s also why he fights so much harder to keep them alive, why he doesn’t give up on them even after they’re dead.
Injuries are something Sora’s gotten used to seeing. He tries to act professional when there’s a gushing wound or a broken leg and most of the time it works. It’s when the job is over that Sora allows himself to feel, allows himself to collapse and emotions to flood in. When he manages to heal someone it’s so much easier to smile than if he failed them. He’s also pretty self-sacrificing in times of trouble too, more so than usual, because of the limitations on his healing spell. It was reduced to only being able to heal a person once a day at 20% while he could heal himself all he wanted. So when he would get injured in a big battle Sora would only heal himself enough to stay alive and upright in order to heal other people sooner. Sora would also gladly sacrifice himself in order to save someone else, even if they were a complete stranger.
With all of the losses Sora has suffered over the years, one would think that he was completely beaten down but he’s not. While he allows himself to have moments of deep sadness he always manages to pick himself up – sometimes with the help of others. He surprised Josh with the strength of his resolve to face something terrible head-on. It’s actually the strength other people have given him, all the people who’ve died or kept going. Sora relies on it, sometimes more heavily than he usually does and sometimes he denies wanting company when he really needs it.
Due to life in the Facility and living years with Riku and even living with others Sora doesn’t do well living by himself. The quiet, empty feeling isn’t something he likes. He adjusted to the idea of having a home and not just a house. Even in the early year he always invited people over or hung out in shared spaces. Sora even took to sleeping in a public place just for the noise of others around him. The more happy chaos, the better. There are also other things that Facility has changed him, such as knowing that familiar faces won’t always know him in return or staying awake on Saturday night to check for the next experiment. Sometimes when he’s confused or surprised Sora forgets about holding back on information he has about other people’s lives but he generally tries to make friends with them all over again.
Unlike some of his fellow clones, Sora is pretty well-adjusted to being a clone of the original Sora. While at first he was reluctant to even believe it when the whole Facility learned about it, time has pretty much been his friend in this area. He doesn’t care that he’s a clone, doesn’t care that other people are clones as well because he believes that it’s their memories and feelings that make them who they are, that make them real. Being a clone won’t stop him from a happy ending, though Sora’s accepted that he’ll never go to the real Destiny Islands. It will, however, stop him from doing things with the real versions of his friends. Like he may never be able tell any Riku about his relationship with his clone version, try to keep his friends separate from the one he has so many extra memories of. Telling them about anything he’s ever been through in the Facility will be difficult, opening up on that part of his life isn’t something he wants to burden them with. It was hard enough to do it with the people who’ve actually experienced something similar. He tries to be like the real Sora despite everything: optimistic, cheery, friendly, and forgiving. Some days it’s easier than others to be like that.
There is one major thing that he doesn't even try to be anything like the real Sora and that's a hero - JR or otherwise. He's failed people so many times that at one point he couldn't even bear someone calling him a hero. Sora couldn't stand the idea of anyone thinking of him that way and even told some people not to. Recently he's allowed people to call him that but he doesn't believe it when said because he doesn't feel like a hero of any kind. He also has thing about promises made about staying with him or to save someone, even ones made to himself because he knows that there's just no controlling something like that in a place like the Facility.
For the longest time Sora had a huge crush on Kairi, so much so that it started a rivalry with his best friend. She showed up out of the blue one day from another world and it inspired both of the boys to want to leave Destiny Islands. Sure they'd met others before, namely Aqua (and Riku had met Terra) but Kairi was a constant source of encouragement and support rather than the mysterious people who seemed to disappear after that one encounter. While Sora had other friends growing up, Kairi was one of his two best ones - the one who was the same age as him. By the time he was fourteen he had more feelings for her than just friendship. She teased him and he got seriously embarrassed over it, he even drew on the pictures of them giving her a Paopu fruit. Those feelings didn't change even over his journey as he thought of Kairi when he saw Will and Elizabeth embracing.
More importantly, Kairi has been something he constantly is trying to run towards. The first journey was all about finding his friends after the islands were lost but when he discovered that something was wrong with her, well, Sora was willing to give up anything for her. Including his own heart. In the end, he sacrificed himself to release her heart from his where it was being kept safe within his own. Sora let himself become a Heartless in order to save her. It was her light that brought him back and her light that constantly guides him. In Castle Oblivion he forgot all about her and in her place was Kairi's Nobody named Naminé. While he felt for her, Sora wanted his true memories back. While Naminé fixed his memories it was his connection to Kairi that helped everyone remember him again after they'd forgotten him. "Starts with an S, right Sora?"
Throughout the last half of his journey it was his promise to her that he'd find Riku and they'd both come home that was really his main goal. Sure, stopping Organization XIII was important too but more-so was that promise to Kairi. So when he stumbled across her in the World that Never Was, it was a huge relief. It had been a long time since Sora had seen her and despite the dangerous situation he was glad to see her. And it was Kairi that allowed Sora to see past Riku's new appearance to his heart. For just a moment there it actually became more important to stop Xemnas that it was to get home to where she was waiting but being stuck after, getting a letter from her was enough to connect them once again across worlds.
While stuck in the Facility, he missed Kairi a great deal but he never wanted her to show up there with all of the horrors they saw. It was enough - for a time - to just know that he'd get out and go home to her. That actually gave him strength for the longest time even if he did draw her face alongside those other friends he'd made and missed, he also had a stuffed lion of her (and Riku) from Santa from that first Christmas that Sora kept close. When he learned that he was actually a clone, he didn't think for a single moment that she wouldn't accept him. Kairi didn't care about that kind of thing and because he knew that the real versions of his friends didn't care, neither did he. That is exactly the reason he doesn't have any issues with being a copy of the real Sora.
When she did finally show up in the Facility, Sora had already been there for a year and a half. A long to be consciously aware of not being with one of your two friends. At first the sheer joy and excitement of seeing her made him forget that now she was in a dangerous position too and he instantly sought her out so they could have. Even as a clone, Kairi had the heart of a Princess of Light. It was soothing on his broken one. They often tried to stay positive with each other, always looking for the good in a situation or sticking together. Sora's deep feelings were still there for her but at that point he was in relationship with Riku and he isn't the kind of person to cheat. That doesn't mean he wasn't sometimes still embarrassed by the things she talked about, especially since Naminé and Xion were around. Despite that they all looked out for each other, he still worried about her. Worried about how the experiments might affect her like they'd affected him with time. He started teaching her things such as; Keyblade Wielding, healing (with & without magic) and various other things.
By the time of her termination almost a year later, he thought of her more like a sister than a crush. All of the girls were his like his sisters and Sora was devastated by the idea that even Kairi could be terminated. Rather than deal with it, he went into stasis while Naminé fixed his memories that had been messed up due to an experiment. Truthfully, he still hasn't dealt with it and going to Hinoto-Ri where she was living didn't help that. Sora felt the loss of Kairi in their house after she was gone, he felt it when she fell comatose in another world. It was one of the losses that devastated him the most, along with Roxas and Axel.
Honestly, Donald and Goofy were the two oddest people Sora has ever met along his travels. They were pretty accepting right from the start and made sure he generally had something to smile about. It really helped that Sora was just as strange as they were and they got along great. Okay, maybe not all of the time but Donald has a limited amount of patience. All Sora wanted to do was fly the Gummi Ship for once but noooo the duck couldn't handle that. Still Sora never would have made it as far as he did without those two and they became some of his best friends. While he made friends in every world they went to that would last for a lifetime, Donald and Goofy were the ones who stuck with him through it all. Except for that one time when they went with Riku who was also a Keyblade Bearer. In the end they did come back to Sora's side and help him save his other friend from the darkness.
It really helped that they had a similar goal: find their friend somewhere across the worlds. And Sora is the kind of person who helps everyone he comes across so if they could save worlds then all the better. They were always with him, backing him up whatever decision he made, having his back in fights and Sora became so used to that. Their support has helped him get through some tough situations and he's grateful for it. He worries about them but knows that they can take care of themselves most of time.
While technically this clone version has never met two of real Sora's best friends, his heart knows them. He often thought of them during his time in the torture box, the pair of them make him laugh even if they weren't together. More importantly, he loved to tell stories about their adventures. Nothing better to get a smile out of someone than tell one of the wacky stories about two of his wackiest friends. They could also be an aspiring story at times when he talked about their loyalty to both him and their king. He does hope that maybe one day he can meet them for real.
In all honesty, if you want to know how Sora's friends have shaped him then it wouldn't be right to leave out some of his more important game CR. If I listed all of his friends that have affected him, we'd be here for a month or so. So we'll start with Roxas. He knew of his Nobody when coming into the Facility but they'd only had brief, ethereal-like encounters before. It was a little awkward at first, mostly on Roxas' behalf since he remembered becoming whole with Sora. But for Sora it was just like having another self. Eventually Roxas warmed up to him and they relied on each other a great deal, like...almost symbiotically sometimes. They sometimes only grieved together, even going so far as to wait for the other before it could really start.
When things happened, they were often a pair - where one was, the other wasn't far behind. They worked in tandem when healing was needed since even when all of their other powers were given back at full strength, their healing wasn't. So it really wasn't too strange to have them both come by for a healing session. At first there was a lot of things that Sora was teaching his Nobody about but at the end, it was Roxas who was teaching him stuff. The really were like brothers rather than Other and Nobody sometimes. Because of their symbiotic relationship, Roxas' termination was almost too much for him to bare. Seriously. He just wanted to curl up in a corner, cry and never leave despite the words his Nobody had left him.
Then there's Axel. The Nobody who sacrificed himself for Sora. Yeah. That was certainly a relationship that had a huge affect on him. At first he only saw him as another part of the Organization, though his heart had feelings he couldn't explain. Due to the sacrifice, Sora didn't immediately distrust the Nobody. Though they didn't always get along. His hero-tendencies gave Axel plenty of headaches over their time in the Facility and he knows that he's had his own fair share of pain over Axel. At first they started out as just acquaintances. People from the same worlds who knew each other and could talk about random things, maybe help each other in a tough situation. But then Axel became someone he started to depend on. Especially after his first Valentine's Day event. Sora almost lost himself that day and would have if it wasn't for Axel. It changed the whole dynamic of their relationship. He started to look up towards the Nobody, really started to bond with him. They sparred weekly and Sora started teaching him healing magic.
Eventually he started to think of Axel as his brother-in-law, especially when Axel started dating Roxas. Sora didn't know want to know the intimate details of their relationship and it was something Axel liked to tease him over. So Axel really did become like family to him, that sometimes-annoying but dependable brother-in-law. When he went home to experience the events of 3Ds, of course he thought Axel was dead the entire time. That's why when he showed back up after, he thought Axel was a ghost. It took some serious explaining on Axel's behalf, the description of events after what Sora remembered for him to accept it. Though Axel's new beating heart helped. He couldn't quite get used to calling him Lea so he just called him Axelea. After that he started helping Axelea with Keyblade training. Facing Roxas' termination was twice as hard because Axelea had been terminated at the same time. Two of the people from home who had been there longer than him had just met the incinerator and were going to become part of the hundreds of ashes that already made up the biodome ground. It really didn't help that Naminé, Leon, Kairi and Mera (Repliku) had been terminated in the weeks before. Their house felt quiet with just three of them left.
Now for some CR that isn't someone from canon. Allen Walker. While Allen had been in the Facility longer than Sora, they didn't meet right away. And even then it wasn't the time to really make friends. He answered a call for help from the exorcist to help him find someone in the rubble of a building. That was the start of it but they didn't talk again for a while. After a few encounters, Sora could really call them friends but their most important developments came when they hit D.Gray-man-style London on the last day of three weeks. Sora was the only person allowed into a certain room of Noah's Ark. He used all of his shonen-ness and Power of FriendshipTM to cheer Allen up. While they had plenty of friendly encounters, they also had their hard times. Sometimes it was Allen perking him up and others it was the other way around. There's a lot he knows about the other teen and he can honestly say that Allen is the best and closest friend he made out of his cross-world relationships. They can talk about just about anything together...except relationships because wow, they were both too embarrassed to talk about that part of their lives too much. Allen taught him a lot including: juggling, tightrope walking, poker, spotting a cheater, walking on his hands and various other things that the exorcist could do from early childhood. In fact, he knows Allen from early childhood. Or at least he likes to think that way ever since the events that turned them both five. Sora got through to a grumpy, mistrusting "Red" and managed to become friends with him. He even kinda became frienemies with the Fourteenth. Oh man, the weeks when multiple Allens showed up was the most massive confusion Sora has even been included in. Sora has also made good friends with Allen's golem friend, Tim. They mourned together one time after Allen's death.
Because of his close relationship with Allen, he also has a good relationship with the other exorcists from Allen's world. Komui was someone he looked up to, Kanda was a less-wacky version of grumpy Donald, Alma was Sora's little buddy who did all the childish things with Sora, Link was the serious guy who was at first that stalker who always followed Allen around. And then there was Lavi. At first he didn't really talk to Lavi but then the guy lost part of his lung and asked for help. Sora gave it to him. After that was when the real relationship started. While there's a lot he doesn't know about the red-headed exorcist, he also knows a great deal. He especially knows about the prankster who doesn't like to sit around in some clinic waiting to be healed. Man, get him with Axel and there was bound to be some sort of shenanigans about to happen. Sometimes Sora joined in when Lavi's health wasn't at stake. But Lavi was one person who trusted him after knowing him a couple of years and Sora was glad to have that trust.
Then comes Sora's relationship with the ninjas of the Naruto-verse. His closest friend would be Shikamaru Naru. Sora looked up to the shinobi a great deal, trying to help with keeping up their guide on the place or trying to lift Shikamaru's spirits. He even started calling him Shika. Whenever he had a situation or problem he couldn't figure out, he always went to Shikamaru with it. It was this ninja who started to teach him a little about technology and especially locking his posts. Of course he also had a friendship with Tsunade. Okay, maybe he was a little afraid of her too. It started out that he wanted to help her out with his magic, or maybe even just help her organize some files she had on patients. Eventually she started teaching him non-magical medical methods. Most of the stuff he knows about setting broken bones or dealing with poison came from her and he appreciates it.
There were always familiar faces in the Facility, people he knew that didn't know him in return. Sora had a pretty good relationship with Cloud, a bad one with Sephiroth, a neutral one with Vincent and a friendly one in the case of Cid. But no one more than with Tifa. Over the course of their time there together, he came to think of her as his mom. It was bittersweet when she showed back up for a short amount of time because he was so happy to see her and tell her all of the things she missed out on but knew she'd go back to the incinerator. Another of his mother figures was Inazuma, who was sometimes a man but really, Sora's seen stranger things. It was her who was there when Sora got 'married' and helped him get ready. He also thought of Milla as a sort of mother, she just seemed to mother everyone but his time with her was pretty short or she kept coming and going without any memories of the place so it always hurt.
There are so many more I could talk about; Xion who was like a sister and tried to keep everyone's spirits up when things were too rough that he couldn't. She even helped him on several occasions. Naminé who he called Nami and was also one of his sisters. The one person he trusted to go inside and fix his memories not once but twice. Mera (Repliku) who was like a grumpier version of Riku but Sora cared for him and made sure felt like he was his own person. Leon who had been there twice and made sure he was training properly and not losing himself to the darkness. 6 who was his little buddy that he liked to draw with.
But let's talk about The Worlds Ends With You cast, who Sora knew long before he met them in the sleeping Traverse Town. Joshua and Neku always seemed to be a pair no matter when they showed up. He didn't understand everything right away and was so hurt by the first termination that he couldn't bare to make friends with them the second time around. However the third time was the charm. Sora was dragged into their world first when they ended up in an experiment together. People had to die in order for the others to escape and he volunteered to be one. Both sides had people they wanted to protect. Relations weren't really good after that especially when Sora was terminated not long after that. When he returned he talked to Joshua who was responsible for his death, Joshua apologized but Sora said he's already forgiven him. It eased tension a little and he started talking to both Joshua and Neku more. They became friends pretty quickly, not just him but other people from his home too.
Then Sora was given memories of the events of his Mastery test and suddenly he didn't just know the versions he'd seen in the Facility. They'd become of Sora's life outside of it now too. He knew things that he'd never known before, asked questions that clearly said he knew more than what they'd told him. That's about when Shiki and Rhyme showed up to complicate things even further. Sora became a confidant of sorts, the group telling him things or entrusting their safety since they were all intricately connected to each other. When Roxas and Axel were terminated Neku was one of the people who helped bring him out of hiding. He might have lost two family members that day but he gained one too in the form of Neku. While Neku could never take Roxas' place, it gave him one more reason to keep moving. What really hurt was when Shiki died and since her Partner was Neku, it meant his life was at stake too. Sora couldn't save Neku, watched his brother die in front of him and even begged Joshua to bring him back, bargaining his own life in the process. That was the day that Joshua saw something in Sora, saw what all of the horrors of the Facility over the years had changed in him. He wouldn't leave Shiki alone, he brought back her decapitated body rather than leave it from the robots to collect. When they both came back to life, he was immensely relieved, wanted them all to move in to maybe help with the quiet of their house. People don't really expect to see someone after they've been terminated and the TWEWY cast was no different when Sora showed up in Hinoto-Ri. What must they have thought when he suddenly disappeared on them again?
Purgatory Personality Differences:
Though his time in his third world was short, Sora was hit pretty hard by the events that took place there. He rolled with the fact that most of his friends weren't the friends he had in either of the previous world and while he did want them to stick together, also didn't try especially hard at accomplishing this. Actually he was rather distant with Riku because this was obviously not his husband and they sort of had a little bit of a falling out at one point due to all of the things Sora couldn't (and wouldn't) say. It was extremely hard to deal with that fact and he kept wanting his Riku rather than the Riku who was there. So he purposely distance himself, rather badly actually. Sora didn't have any communication with anyone for a long time and attempted to live on his own, something he has sort of gotten used to here. Not that he would actually protesting living with friends but he felt as if there were simply things he couldn't share with them, events and information that had happened to him in the past. While he does care for his friends and would willingly die for them (and has), Sora does find that he can't completely open to them. It's too painful for him and he doesn't think his friends should have to deal with all his baggage anyway. For him it is easier to surround himself with individuals who don't really know him and build brand new frienships from the ground up. Though he would never truly ignore his friends unless something huge downright upsets him.
He has also grown pretty dependent on his various abilities - whether it be his own magic or even the abilities of his Dream Eaters. Being without will be a bit of a struggle for Sora, especially starting up or even when it simply comes to sleeping. Any housemates of his should prepare for a wide variety of nightmares or for him to simply be up all night long
