[ Sora stops walking and turns to face Akira, not letting his gaze drift away from the teens. ]
This isn't the first time I've had to participate in a murder game. I wasn't alone there. Shido was there too. He was the key figure to winning the whole game so we all had to protect him.
Me, all the others... You and Goro. Except, they weren't exactly you. [ He pauses here, waiting for Akira to absorb all of that. ]
[After all that, he inhales for a long moment, then lets out a breath.]
Damn...
[He shakes his head.]
This is a shitty situation to be in, let alone more than once. And being forced to protect that man... [His eyes glitter with anger... before he looks to Sora.] Me and Akechi but not exactly, huh?
[ He doesn't look away from Akira, just watches him quietly as he processes that. ]
Yeah.
[ There's no real response to how Sora feels about being in a second murder game, just that he accepts it. ]
Look, I don't know Shido all that well except for the few weeks I was with him but... maybe he was different from the guy you knew. [ With only his basic understanding of the way shadows and Personas work, he doesn't see the same person that Goro and Akira do. ] The Goro I knew was the version from Yusuke's reality. Shido was from the same one so I'm not sure how they're different. And that Akira... he didn't know anything about Personas. He had a completely different ability and none of that Palace stuff in his version.
[He just falls quiet, listening to Sora. After a moment, he nods... and then asks:]
How long has it been since you've been home? Or... the place you were originally from.
[... heh, what is he saying. Why would he want to go back to that shithole? Granted, he doesn't expect elsewhere to be much better, and he does still want his vengeance.]
[ What loaded questions those are. The real Sora might think home is Destiny Islands but truthfully, he's never actually been there. Just fake imitations of them and in his memories.
His home... his home is where ever Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Nami, Axelea and so many others are. If it even still exists. The place where he's originally from is likely crashed into some deserted planet somewhere. ]
A year -- plus about three months. I've seen people I know but they don't always remember me, or they don't remember what we've been through in places like this.
[ But he guesses he should say this: ]
Last time people had the opportunity to go somewhere else, somewhere nice where they'd hopefully be safe and maybe even go home. I just decided not to go with them.
