[ Between and after the games, Sora makes himself easy to find. He doesn't go seeking out the two people who likely have the most questions about how he... knows so much about their world. Figuring that when they were both ready, they'd come find him.
Which is why he's currently sitting on the bridge to the right of the village, bare feet plopped in the water so as to not contaminate their lake water or fish. Currently he's facing the edge of the world, wondering what would happen if someone got caught in the pull of the stream.
Someone approaches and he glances to side to see which one it is. ]
[ Sora laughs, albeit nervously and ruffles the back of his hair. ]
Yeah, I kinda... figured you would have some questions. [ He was dropping some facts that he's not sure any of the people from their world even told anyone else.
The brunette turns slightly to face the other more fully. ]
[ Sora hums thoughtfully over that. Let's not lead off with "I examined his corpse but he was a lion at the time". ]
Hm, not very well. Like I never asked him much about his world or the things happening there but we survived another murder game together so... I know that some stuff happened between the two of you but no specifics.
[ There's a very brief pause. ]
Ah, I should specify. I'm pretty sure the one I know is the version from Yusuke's world.
... Nothing really ever happened between us. He abandoned my mother and me. Left her to suffer while trying to take care of me, all on her own.
It... was all of that...
[ Goro runs a hand through the back of his hair. ]
She lost- the battle against despair. I was... six. They sent me to live with family members that didn't want me. Finally, after they ran out of people who'd take me in, I spent a long time simply... in the system. Living with other unwanted children - the throwaways.
But... somewhat recently, I was taken in by an older woman and her husband. They've been raising me, ever since. I believe, if not for them, I'd be...
[ A somewhat tense laugh slips out as he looks away. ]
They helped me find hope. And I have... friends now.
[ Sora is quiet as he listens to Goro, the sad story he has to tell and he gets it. It wasn't an easy life and chances are there's a lot of blame and negative feelings towards Shido. He can't even say it was undeserved. Maybe the Goros he knew were in a similar situation... maybe it was worse.
It definitely seemed worse when Goro was actually faced with his father in the first death games. ]
I'm sorry. I didn't know all of that. That was... a side of Shido I never saw.
Though I'm glad you found a home and friends. That you didn't let him snuff out your light.
[ A shake of his head. ] The Shido I knew was different from what you've said. He tried... I think he was genuinely sorry for all the things he'd done even if there was no way to make it up to any version of you. He tried to look out for most of us, had been through living in a different world before and considered it home.
[ Sora gives him a sad smile. ]
It's not fair, that I know only the good side of him and you the bad.
I understand that. And the way you think or feel about him - I'm not going to try to change those. They belong to you and nothing can change the past.
[ He shrugs. ]
All I wanted was for you to know how I was aware of certain things without you or Akira telling me anything first. We were in a situation similar to this one - where people were forced to kill each other in a death game and then find the killer.
[ A long pause now as he thinks back. ]
When Shido was killed, I was the one to examine his body. Though admittedly, he was a lion cub at the time and was brought back to life a few days later.

Hey Goro.

... what he has to ask... ]
Sora... hey. [ a deep breath ]
I... wanted to ask you something.

Ask when you're ready, I'm not going anywhere.

Well, um... How well do you know my father?
[ Just ignore the tension of his voice, of his shoulders, of his... everything... ]

All... no thanks to Masayoshi Shido.

Only... good...
[ There's a somewhat heavy breath escaping. ]
I have to admit, I'm- having trouble even imagining that.
